THE GREAT NORTH AIR AMBULANCE
Recycling: In January 2010 the Rotary Club collected and recycled Christmas Trees for a donation in support of the Great North Air Ambulance.
THE ROSE BOWL TROPHY
Annual Award: In January 2010 'The Rose Bowl Trophy' is awarded annually to the Student in Chester-le-Street district with the highest academic achievement. See the 'Events' page.

ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND - THE SOLDIERS' CHARITY
Concert: On Saturday, 23rd January 2010, The 'Soldiers' Charity', the Army Benevolent Fund, held an evening of Musicals & Proms to 'Salute Our Heroes' at The Gala Theatre, Durham.
The Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street supported this very successful project.

'EXTRAVAGANZA' EVENT - HELP FOR HEROES & ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND
Book Launch 'Extravaganza':

On Saturday, 27th March 2010, at an 'Extravaganza' Evening, including Dinner & a Concert, Rotarian David Hughes and The Rotary Club of Cheser-le-Street, will be launching David's latest book 'My Son The Enemy' , a novel, a work of fiction based on his Army experiences at the end of WW2.
All profit from the 'Extravaganza' and the world-wide book sales will go jointly to support the charities 'Help for Heroes' and the 'Army Benevolent Fund'.

Fashion Show Ladies. Our Daughter Club, The Rotary Club of Birtley, is holding a Fashion Show on Monday, 29th March 2010, at the Parish Centre, Chester-le-Street, Co Durham. The proceeds will go in aid of 'Help for Heroes'. For details visit the'Events' page or click here: Fashion Show (.PDF).
JAMES ETHERINGTON MUSIC AWARDS
Music Awards: In April 2010 'The James Ethering Music Awards' will be held by The James Etherington Music Trust. This is an annual event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street, for promising young Musicians and Singers who wish to further their musical training.
